Communication is the ultimate goal. A design is functional when the elements are arranged effectively to express the most appropriate message.

All businesses have messages they want to communicate. Our job is to figure out the best way to do that - by understanding each individual business and their audience, and then determining the most appropriate message.

In this world of high technology and computers, our creative process has been strengthened by the growing choices of imagery and mediums to communicate these messages. The concept of design can not be limited to the two dimensional printed page. The most effective message may be multi-media in nature.

Meeting with new clients and discussing the different approaches we might take, develops a wonderful energy and rapport - one idea builds on another. Determining the most appropriate message for our clients can only come from this important collaboration.

Mason design is equipped with the state-of-the-art computer facilities which we utilize for design, typesetting, full color comprehensive layouts, mechanicals (when applicable) and pre-press production.

We can accept PC disks with copy for implementation into individual design layouts. Mason Design also offers scanning and retouching capabilities.

Input Meeting

In this session, we will determine the scope and objectives of your communication needs. We will discuss theme and concept direction, any special requirements, preliminary schedule and budget.

Sketch Presentation

We will submit design concepts, based on your approved theme or direction, in a rough layout form known as thumbnail sketches. This presentation will include black and white sketches which consist of a photographic and typographic style to convey theme and design consistency.

Design Presentation

One approved design format from preliminary layouts will be refined and presented in full color on flat boards. These will consist of all the vital components for your project. Included in this presentation will be paper dummies of proposed stock and a complete pagination. After approval of full color design, a black and white working book format will be produced for approval of photo and copy positioning. We will also submit a preliminary schedule and budget. At this point, we will make our recommendations for printer and photographer, if required.

Art Direction and Management

We will coordinate the scheduling of the photography, if required. Our photo art direction includes the time incurred when scouting locations, selecting models or props and directing the actual shoot. Mason Design will supervise and/or do the retouching and color correction of the final prints.

Proofing, Printing and Delivery

Mason Design is experienced and knowledgeable in color proofing and the reproduction process. We will be present when your project goes on press. Our responsibility is only completed when all your brochures have reached their final destination. We will manage the production and keep you informed through all phases of the project. In order to make certain that the best results are achieved, the designer will be the primary contact with outside suppliers.
